Keep Moving Forward!

I’m backkkkk

I’m back. Both to the US and the weight loss/get healthy thing.

I just spent my spring semester studying abroad in Italy. It was an amazing semester full of tons of amazing memories. But also a lot of amazing food and a lot of amazing wine and a lot of amazing gelato. And not a lot of exercising. Thankfully because I was in Florence I did walk everywhere. That helped me not gain massive amounts of weight but I gained about 5 pounds. So I’m back. My goal is to lose those 5 pounds and at least another 10 but not more than another 15 this summer to get down to my target weight of 125 or my goal weight of 120. Anyone want to join me? Or at least help me stay accountable? :)

Here’s my plan:

Only drink water. Except I can have one 8oz cup of OJ in the morning, and milk if I have cereal. I love OJ in the morning, sorry.

Exercise. I really need to build my endurance back up. I want to be able to run a half marathon by January. This week I’m going to ride my bike a bunch before starting a running plan next week. I also have bad knees so strength training is going to be very important for me. I want to be running 4 times a week, biking twice a week, and strength training 2-3 times a week. But I’m going to build up to that. I might join an exercise class or yoga class as well, we’ll see how my bank account and work schedule feels about that.

Portion control. I threw that out the window in Italy as I was cooking for myself usually. I would just throw some stuff together and eat it all as there was no room in my fridge for leftovers. No more of that.

Watch what I eat. I suck at counting calories and to be honest it stresses me out. I know it’s an extremely important part of losing weight but I suck at it hardcore.

Watch out world, come 13 weeks from now, I’m going to be at least 15 pounds lighter and look damn hot. Who’s with me?

Disney Princess 2013

That’s cool that you’re running the 2013 Princess Race - a few of my friends and I are running that race too. We’ll be blogging here as we get closer to race time. http://disneyprincess2013.blogspot.com/

Went for a walk/jog today.

It felt great! I mean, it felt awful, but I’m glad I did it.

Total distance: 1.44 miles

Alright kiddos. I’m back on the bandwagon for real this time.

I officially decided today (for no reason at all aside from feeling inspired) that at this time next year I would like to be capable of running the Disney Princess Half Marathon.

Which means I will be going to fitness classes on the reg.

And starting to run.

And eating healthier (maybe even trying to go veg?)

THIS IS IT.

Just wanted to let all you lovely people know that I’m at disney world! It was the disney marathon this weekend (my feelings of inadequacy are many).

Every time I go back, I forget how much I love it here!

Wouldn’t it be fun if one year we got a team together to do the marathon relay? Just throwing that out there.

Wow! It’s been a while dis-fitters…but I don’t really want to let this blog die. I’ve just ended my field hockey season and that means back to keeping in shape on my own time. On tuesday i’m going to start what I’ve decided to call New Outlook November! I’m going to focus on living a healthy life and being an all-around happy person!

I’ll keep you all updated with the progress of that. If people want to join me go right ahead!

What have y’all been up to, It’s been a while and I want to know?

Crossfit Workouts

We do crossfit to condition and strength train for my hockey team. It’s awesome, you can usually do it without weights or a gym, all you need is a watch! This crossift work out also features Erin Andrews as the demonstrator type person thingy, and she is personally one of my favorite people, so there you go. Clicketh the link.

Question! Does anybody else have trouble with the whole weight yoyo thing, I did really well this summer (only yoyoing back and forth 3-5 pounds) but since I got back to school, I’ve gained, lost, and regained, upwards of 10 pounds, without really changing anything!

Anybody have words of encouragement?

I went to my new general doctor today (too old for my pediatrician now). I’ve been having back issues all the time and really bad knee pain when I run; so in addition to my usual check-up I had her check my knees. After telling her about my life, or the life that pertains to my medical history, she told me that knee pain that only occurs when I run is from the large amount of stress I’m under. She recommended I go in for acupuncture. Is that even possible? Thoughts?
